Hampstead House
Description
We have been approached to overhaul the main living spaces of this beautiful family home by reimagining the ground floor living spaces and proposing a new basement floor. A key design consideration was to address the entry sequence at ground floor level and circulation route throughout the house. By repositioning and rotating the staircase to become a sculptural centre piece, it now serves as an anchor point that harmoniously links all floors and filters light right down to the entrance hall.
The large, spacious basement accommodates a family media and entertaining space, study, gym with spa facilities, as well as utility and plant space. The splendour of the design relies on a series of glazed screens that greet you as you arrive from the stairs, leading you through an elegant space with crisp detailing and clean lines.
